Cambodian Senate President to Pay Official Visit to Vietnam in 3 Days

PHNOM PENH: The President of the Senate, Say Chhum, will lead a high-level senate delegation to pay a three-day official state visit to Vietnam from 24-26 October 2022, to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two countries.

According to a press release issued by the Senate on Friday, 21October, this upcoming visit to Vietnam will be made at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue.

This visit is aimed at strengthening and expanding the friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the peoples and countries, but especially between the Cambodian Senate and the Vietnamese National Assembly. On the other hand, the visit also commemorates celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the year of Cambodia-Vietnam friendship.

Senate President Say Chhum will pay a courtesy call to senior leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in order to discuss work.

Among these leaders are the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, and other senior Vietnamese officials.
